The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Vietti appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Vietti so the Vietti or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) ARGENT (Silver): Purity, Integrity, Obedience, Firmness, Surveillance, Eloquence and Expiration.

2) GULES: Red color that symbolizes Strength, Victory, Daring and Highness.

3) SABLE: Black color that symbolizes Prudence, Sadness, Rigor, Honesty and Obedience.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* COCK: The Cock is a symbol of Vigilance and Tenacity in the fight.

* FESS: The Fess represents the Noble Heart of the Knight, into which no betrayal or disloyalty can enter.

* SEA: The Sea symbolizes a raging and wrathful spirit that does not lose, however, the limits of the obedience that it owes to its sovereign.

* SNAKE: The Snakes symbolize Prudence and Cunning.

* FIG: The Fig Tree or its leaves symbolize the State Benefactors.

* LION: The Lion symbolizes the Generously Warrior Spirit, adorned with the qualities of Vigilance, Dominion, Sovereignty, Majesty and Bravery.

* LEOPARD: The Leopard represents the Courageous and Endeavoring Knight who has carried out some daring enterprise using cunning rather than force to complete it.
