The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Teixa appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Teixa so the Teixa or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) GULES: Red color that symbolizes Strength, Victory, Daring and Highness.

2) AZURE: Blue color that symbolizes Justice, Zeal, Truth, Loyalty, Charity and Beauty.

3) OR (Gold): Nobility, Magnanimity, Wealth, Power, Light, Constancy and Wisdom.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* CHECKY: The Checky symbolizes Military Art, for which reason it is usually awarded to soldiers who have exposed their lives in combat.

* MULBERRY: The Mulberry symbolizes Prudence and Wisdom.

* PARROT: The Parrot is a symbol of a Noble Knight, who looks with pleasure at the enamels on his shield, with the intention of not only preserving them, but adding new stamps with his own deeds and is also a symbol of Eloquence and Docility.

* STICK: The Stick symbolizes military command.

* SEA: The Sea symbolizes a raging and wrathful spirit that does not lose, however, the limits of the obedience that it owes to its sovereign.

* DOG: The Dog is a symbol of Faithful Vassal.

* HOLM: The Holm Oak is a symbol of Strong and Constant Spirit in heroic actions and courageous undertakings.

* WALL: The Wall represents the Noble Heart of the Knight, in which no betrayal or disloyalty can enter.
