The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Sirgal appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Sirgal so the Sirgal or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) AZURE: Blue color that symbolizes Justice, Zeal, Truth, Loyalty, Charity and Beauty.

2) OR (Gold): Nobility, Magnanimity, Wealth, Power, Light, Constancy and Wisdom.

3) PURPLE: Justice, Wit, Truth, Greatness, Wisdom and Love; those who wear this color are obliged to defend the Prince defending ecclesiastical people.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* KEY: The Keys symbolize Fidelity and Secrecy.

* THISTLE: The Thistle symbolizes in Heraldry a heart nobly humble, but so careful of its honor, that it defends with its sword the luster of its lineage.

* CRICKET: The Cricket is a symbol of the Irresolute and Inconstant Lover.

* BRIDGE: The Bridge symbolizes Alliance and Union.

* FLEUR-DE-LIS: The Fleur-de-lis represents the Generous Courage that, for received grievances, repeatedly returns benefits, and is a symbol of French heraldry.

* FIRE: The Fire is a symbol of Magnanimity, Burning and Promptness in performances or intellectual tasks.

* APPLE: The Apple Tree symbolizes the Watchful Heart.

* MARTLET: The Martlets mean the number of defeated enemies and are the distinctive mark of the fourth son.
