The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Sacido appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Sacido so the Sacido or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) GULES: Red color that symbolizes Strength, Victory, Daring and Highness.

2) OR (Gold): Nobility, Magnanimity, Wealth, Power, Light, Constancy and Wisdom.

3) ARGENT (Silver): Purity, Integrity, Obedience, Firmness, Surveillance, Eloquence and Expiration.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* PIGEON: The Pigeon is a symbol of Health; in the coat of arms it denotes Fidelity and Love. It is the emblem of the Third Person of the Holy Trinity and, as such, adorns the currency of the French Order of the Holy Spirit.

* FUSIL: The Fusil is a symbol of Righteousness, Prudence and Equity and of the conveniences achieved through these virtues; it serves as a hieroglyph for those who gathered many goods using lawful and upright means.

* GRIFFIN: The Griffin, half eagle and half lion, is an emblem of Ingenuity and Greatness.

* PELICAN: The Pelican is a symbol of the Charitable and Pious Lord towards his vassals.

* SWAN: The Swan, by the tradition that he sings sweetly when he is about to die, means Ancient Nobility, without stain of any kind, who dies courageously executing glorious undertakings.

* SHELL: The Shell symbolizes the Knight who marches to the borders of his states to widen them by fighting; it is also a symbol of Pilgrim.

* TURTLE: The Turtle is one of the most noble figures, being a symbol of the Knight who retires late from combat, facing his enemy until the last moment, trusting in his own strength.

* COMET: The Comet symbolizes a Brave Courage to prevent in time, without fear, future grievances.
