The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Riberos appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Riberos so the Riberos or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) OR (Gold): Nobility, Magnanimity, Wealth, Power, Light, Constancy and Wisdom.

2) PURPLE: Justice, Wit, Truth, Greatness, Wisdom and Love; those who wear this color are obliged to defend the Prince defending ecclesiastical people.

3) AZURE: Blue color that symbolizes Justice, Zeal, Truth, Loyalty, Charity and Beauty.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* borduraNOusar: La Bordura simboliza Protección, Favor y Recompensa; asimismo la cota que vestían los caballeros y que al salir de la pelea, ostentándola manchada de sangre enemiga, eran premiados con el añadido de la bordura de escudo, como insignia de Valor.

* ROOK: The Rooks symbolize the Captain who defends his fortress.

* PALM: The Palm Tree symbolizes Victory and Triumph.

* WHEEL: The Wheels symbolize Speed in carrying out the most arduous undertakings. They are also a symbol of Fortune, Favor and Inconstancy.

* MARTLET: The Martlets mean the number of defeated enemies and are the distinctive mark of the fourth son.

* BULL: The Bull symbolizes Generous Chest, in whom the memories of his lineage, represented in the red of his blood, inflame the desire for great enterprises.

* SHELL: The Shell symbolizes the Knight who marches to the borders of his states to widen them by fighting; it is also a symbol of Pilgrim.
