The work "Linajes y Blasones de Galicia", by Father Crespo, where the heraldry and the history of the family name Estoa appears, is the most important treatise of the heraldry of Galicia (Spain), and was published three hundred years after the appearance of the posthumous "Nobiliario, Armas y Triunfos de Galicia", by Father Felipe de la Gandara. Its author Father Crespo Pozo, had for his investigations, vigils and costly walks that were rewarded with the kind collaboration of Nobles as the Dukes of Medinaceli facilitating the archive of the Grand Casa Marquesal de Camarasa, etc. All this resulted in a plurality of sources of consultation that make the scholarly work, encyclopedic and illustrative in Galician heraldry. This work collects, as we have already said, the history and heraldry of family Estoa so the Estoa or they are Galician or linked in some of their branches to Galicia.

One of the most distinctive qualities of heraldry is the use of a limited palette of colours and patterns, usually referred to as tinctures. These are divided into three categories, known as metals, colours, and furs.

Next we are going to see the meanings of three tinctures:

1) PURPLE: Justice, Wit, Truth, Greatness, Wisdom and Love; those who wear this color are obliged to defend the Prince defending ecclesiastical people.

2) AZURE: Blue color that symbolizes Justice, Zeal, Truth, Loyalty, Charity and Beauty.

3) OR (Gold): Nobility, Magnanimity, Wealth, Power, Light, Constancy and Wisdom.

Next lets look at the characteristics of some figures that we can find in heraldry and crests:

* LION: The Lion symbolizes the Generously Warrior Spirit, adorned with the qualities of Vigilance, Dominion, Sovereignty, Majesty and Bravery.

* ANJOU: The Chief of Anjou, belonging to Italian heraldry, represents a political alliance with the Welf party (derived from Welf, Duke of Bavaria) who were loyal to the Pope.

* SCEPTER: The Scepter represents Dignity.

* LANCE: The Lance represents Strength with Prudence.

* FUSIL: The Fusil is a symbol of Righteousness, Prudence and Equity and of the conveniences achieved through these virtues; it serves as a hieroglyph for those who gathered many goods using lawful and upright means.

* TURTLE: The Turtle is one of the most noble figures, being a symbol of the Knight who retires late from combat, facing his enemy until the last moment, trusting in his own strength.

* LEBREL: The Lebrels denote Burning and Courage in undertaking dangers, with such decision, that they need to contain their effort. The Boar symbolizes Dauntless and Boldness.

* WATER: The Water is a symbol of Enlightened Wisdom, of Virtuous Mood, and can also symbolize domain extension.
